A MAN has been arrested in Stratford on suspicion of going equipped to steal bikes.

The man was spotted acting suspiciously around the cycle racks on Waterside by the council’s CCTV system on Wednesday (June 17).

After close monitoring by the CCTV operative, the man was stopped and searched by officers on the Birmingham Road.

He was taken into custody and interviewed but was released with no further action being taken.

The police are urging all cycle owners to ensure their cycles are locked up with a good solid lock and in an area that can be monitored by CCTV.

They are also encouraging cyclists to get their bikes security marked by the local team.
