A MAN has died after being found at the bottom of a lift shaft in Warwick.
Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to Telent Technology Park on Haywood Road at around 1.30am.
Paramedics tried to revive the man – who was believed to have been working on the lift – but he was confirmed dead at the scene.
A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a report of a man found at the bottom of a lift shaft.
“He was brought out from the shaft and we carried out advanced life support. Unfortunately the level of injury was too severe and the man was confirmed dead.”
The incident has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive.
Telent chief executive office Mark Plato said: “The police and HSE are currently investigating the incident therefore we are not in a position to provide further details at this time.
“Our thoughts are with the individual’s family.”
And a spokeswoman for Warwickshire Police told the Observer: “We were called to business premises in Haywood Road, Warwick where it was reported that a man had fallen down a shaft.
“The man suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.
“Investigations are under way to establish the facts around the incident but these are at an early stage and we cannot confirm any further details.”
