THE MAYOR and mayoress have stepped out to celebrate the reopening of Stratford Town Walk.
The daily walk first began 18 years ago to show visitors around the town.
But in March coronavirus forced the event to stop.
Now they have relaunched with social distancing in place, meeting daily at the Swan Fountain in Waterside.
Mayor Tony Jackson and Mayoress Mandy Jackson were on hand to enjoy the first walk, along with a visiting family from Somerset and guide Barbara Bassett.
Coun Jackson said: “It is wonderful to see the tourists slowly returning to the town and it was a pleasure to meet and welcome the family who had booked the walk. They certainly enjoyed the experience and it was nice to hear such complimentary praise for our historic buildings.
“Special thanks to our guide who had a wealth of knowledge to share.”
