MP Nadhim Zahawi and law professor Jeff Kenner were given a Brexit quizzing by students at Stratford School.
The Question Time-style event followed the triggering of Article 50 and was organised by sixth formers Callum De Hoest-Thompson and Saffron Nisbett.
Saffron said she felt it was extremely important to hold an event that gave the students a voice on their personal views about Britain’s current political situation.
Students Jamie Thomas and Phillip Reynolds on the panel, voiced their opinions on Brexit before questions were taken from their peers.
The questions covered a range of topics including the time it took to trigger Article 50, the millions of pounds promised to the NHS following Brexit, and the future of education and employment for young people.
Organiser Callum said: “It was truly inspiring to see students’ interest in politics and the outstanding knowledge base of those students who asked questions. The views of students being placed forward also allowed for another angle to be placed on the current questions surrounding Brexit.
“The ability of the student audience to pose in depth questions was a credit to the school.” This was a sentiment echoed by both guest speakers Prof Jeff Kenner and Mr Nadhim Zahawi after the event had finished.”
