Stratford Editorial 24th May, 2017   0

A NEW £1.5million home is being built for Tiddington Home Guard Club.

The complex will be built close to its former site on Main Street and will be on the new Hayfield Chase development, which also consists of 32 new homes.

Hayfield Chase will occupy four acres of the 12-acre site, and the remainder of the land will belong to the Home Guard Club.

The new complex will include the upgrade of the club and sports facilities as well as upgraded changing rooms, café, bar and function rooms and a scout and brownie hut. The grounds will also be redeveloped to provide improved football playing fields, a rugby training ground and a cycle track.

Chairman of the club Norman Mallins said: “We are delighted to be working on this exciting new development for the village.

“The Home Guard Club has been a valuable community organisation for decades and we have needed new premises for many years. We look forward to the work being completed by the end of the year.”
