ANYONE for table tennis?
Residents and visitors to the town will now be able to get to grips with the sport after Stratford District Council installed a new outdoor table tennis table on the Recreation Ground.
Part of a wider initiative to encourage people to use the park more for recreational purposes and physical activity, the table was funded by a £3,000 grant from Public Health Warwickshire.
The new table, which is next to the changing room pavilion, is free to use although players need to bring their own bats and balls.
Leisure spokesman Coun Mike Brain, said: “This is a great new addition to the Recreation Ground facilities and would not have been possible without the funding from Public Health Warwickshire.
“It will hopefully encourage many people – both young and old – to try table tennis and also persuade them to become more active.”
