Older folks tuck into festive treat as part of Escape Arts VIP group

OLDER folks in Stratford tucked into a festive feast.

Escape Arts hosted the Christmas lunch for members of their VIP group – veterans and interesting pensioners – and were overwhelmed by the response to their call for help in putting on the spread.

The View restaurant hosted, prepared and cooked, meat was donated from Barry the Butcher, vegetables came from suppliers A M Bailey and volunteers served the meal.

The VIPs meet once a month when the team at Escape Arts cook for the group and with Christmas drawing ever closer it was decided a proper turkey dinner with all the trimmings was the best way to enjoy their December meeting.

Karen Williams from Escape Arts said: “I can’t thank The View enough. We had the most amazing Christmas dinner for our veterans and older people.

“Thank you so much Carl Harrison and his amazing team, to Barry the Butcher, A M Bailey, Sandra Fuller, Springfresh, Roni Carter and Karen Smith for all the festive food, mince pies and puds and Ali Allen for her secret stuffing.

“It was a truly beautiful event, we were all very spoilt. And thanks to Tori Rushton for the fabulous music.”
