Panto 'mash-up' set to entertain in Southam

Stratford Editorial 30th Jan, 2018   0

THE GRANGE Players will be offering panto fusion fun in Southam this weekend.

What if, on that fateful day, many years ago, the Little Mermaid swam to the surface to find her true love and the first human she saw was not a prince, but Long John Silver on his way to Treasure Island?

Co-writer and director Gideon Wilkins said: “This is our third panto mash-up. In recent years we’ve had soap characters turning up in Shakespeare stories and a dragon raging through Pride & Prejudice.

“This year we’re fusing two of the best loved ocean tales to pitch pirates vs mermaids. This story of forbidden love has our usual twist of both modern and classic references, humour and entertainment.”

Treasure Island & The Little Mermaid runs from February 2 to 4 at the The Grange Hall.

For tickets, visit facebook.com/thegrangeplayers or they are also available from Sweet Boutique on Market Hill, Southam. A few tickets will also available on the door at each performance. Curtain up at 7.30pm on Friday, and 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
