Paxton and Whitfield worker challenges early morning thief

A BRAVE retail worker challenged a thief at a Stratford shop before it opened.

Warwickshire Police are investigating a robbery at Paxton and Whitfield on Wood Street which happened before 9am on Monday (December 12).

The offender entered through the fire escape and was in the process of removing bags of cash from the safe when he was challenged by a female member of staff.

He twisted her arm and pushed her to the ground before making off with some of the cash. He went in the direction of Bards Walk and Guild Street.




The thief is described as a white man around 5ft 10in tall and of a slim build. He was wearing a blue jumper, possibly with a hood, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
