THEATRE companies, schools and colleges are once again being offered the chance to tread the RSC’s outside boards in Stratford.
The RSC is inviting groups to put on a play by Shakespeare or his contemporaries at The Dell on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer.
The RSC’s open air performance space near Holy Trinity Church will be staging performances from June 3 to August 27.
RSC events and exhibitions officer, Nicola Salmon, said: “The Dell is a great platform for amateur theatre companies, community groups, schools, universities and professional theatre companies to perform to an audience of all ages right in the heart of Shakespeare’s home town of Stratford.
“Audiences love the free productions that companies bring to The Dell, and enjoy the unique atmosphere that comes from plays being performed outside by the River Avon during the summer months.
Visit www.rsc.org.uk/thedell for further details. The closing date for applications is Monday March 6.
* THE RSC is also offering musicians from the Midlands the chance to showcase their talent in the foyer of The Other Place theatre.
Musicians, singers and songwriters who can offer two 45 minute sets, primarily of original music, are encouraged to apply. Submissions are welcome from soloists and small groups, representing all genres of music, including pop, folk, acoustic, electronic and country.
Performances will take place on the first Thursday of every month in Susie’s Bar, usually starting at 8pm, with the first event taking place on April 8.
Those interested in taking part should contact the RSC on email@example.com, sending a link to three music tracks and a biography of up to 150 words. The RSC will provide a PA and sound technician, a listing on its website, and a fee.
The closing date for applications is February 24.
