THE SHAKESPEARE Hospice got into the Christmas spirit while raising money.

And the people of the district joined them by wearing their best festive knit for the hospice’s Jolly Jumper Day.

Local businesses including BDR Voice and Data, Sims Garden Machinery and Penman’s Solicitors also joined in with the festive fundraising.

Matt Price from the hospice said: “It’s amazing to see so many schools, businesses and individuals taking part and raising much needed funds for the Shakespeare Hospice.

“Over 60 businesses in the local area donned their festive knits and raised thousands for the hospice!”

People can still donate by texting JOLL16 and the amount you would like to donate to 70070.

The store on Wood Street in Stratford got into the festive spirit by wearing Christmas jumpers and asking friends and customers for donations.

Store director Paul Griffiths comments: “Christmas is an enjoyable time of year for so many, but it’s important to remember that there are people in our local community who need our support.

“These funds mean that this patient can return home for Christmas and spend it surrounded by family and friends, as the festive period should be.

“Thank you to everyone who came along to donate towards such a brilliant cause.”
