Plans for another Costa in Stratford fail to impress

UNHAPPY residents have expressed their frustration at plans for another Costa Coffee in Stratford.

If plans are approved, a new Costa drive-through could be built opposite the Rosebird Centre on Shipston Road.

The coffee giant already has two outlets in the town centre, with one on Henley Street and another at the Maybird Shopping Park.

Residents took to social media to express their exasperation ‘at yet another Costa’.

One commenter wrote: “We have some really good award winning independent cafes in our town. And the money they earn and the money they pay their staff also stays in our town.

“Coffee is one sector of cafes and roasters where Stratford excels. No need to seek choice or quality elsewhere.”

While another estimated it was another one of some 40 places to buy hot drinks.

Residents can visit www.stratford.gov.uk to have their say.

A decision is expected to be made on January 18.
