MORE traveller pitches could be created in Welford.
The Rainbow Nurseries site in the village currently has eight pitches but the owner has applied to Stratford District Council for another six.
A similar application was previously put forward but was withdrawn following a dispute around land ownership. If plans go ahead, the additional pitches would solely be on the site belonging to the applicant.
As part of its mandatory Gypsy and Traveller Local Plan, the council is looking to provide another 17 pitches to meet a total of 40 – despite a number of them being vacant.
