FOLLOWING the reduction of the UK threat level to ‘severe’, Warwickshire Police is urging people to continue to remain vigilant.

Prime Minister Theresa May made the announcement on Saturday after the level – which had been ‘severe’ since August 2014 – was raised to ‘critical’ following the attack at the Manchester arena.

As a result of the critical warning, Warwickshire Police increased their presence throughout the county, and particularly in busy locations including the popular attraction Warwick Castle, and at events likely to attract a number of visitors.

The Police reassured that this additional security would remain in place over the bank holiday.

Asst Ch Con Martin Evans said:“It has been heart warming to see how our officers, staff and the community have continued to work together so positively following the tragic events at the beginning of the week. ”
