Public inquiry into 85 homes in Long Itchington

Stratford Editorial 25th Nov, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

A PUBLIC inquiry into plans for up to 85 homes in Long Itchington begins next week.

It follows an appeal by developers CEMEX UK Properties, against Stratford District Council’s decision to reject its proposals for homes on land off Stockton Road.

Officers had recommended the scheme be given the go-ahead but members of the authority’s planning committee refused because of fears over the size and scale of the development and the impact it would have on the area’s character.

Proceedings get underway from 10am on Tuesday (December 1) at the council’s Church Street HQ with the inquiry expected to last four days.

The public may attend and express their views at the discretion of the government planning inspector, who will then decide whether to accept or reject the appeal.
