Referendum for Bidford community to have its say on developments

Stratford Editorial 22nd May, 2017   0

A REFERENDUM will give people in Bidford a chance to have their say on developments in the village.

Bidford Neighbourhood Plan referendum will take place on Thursday June 29 to decide whether residents want to see the Stratford District Council use Bidford plan to decide planning applications in the area.

Neighbourhood plans are a key component of the Government’s Localism Act, which aims to devolve greater powers to councils and neighbourhoods. The plan will cover everything from green spaces and sustainable transport, to housing and leisure facilities.

The polling stations – at The Crawford Memorial Hall, Salford Road, Bidford, and Broom Village Hall on High Street, Broom – will be open from 7am to 10pm.
