Residents in Alderminster given say on future development

Stratford Editorial 8th Jun, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

PEOPLE in Alderminster are set to be given a greater say on future development.

Alderminster Parish Council has submitted an application for the designation of a ‘neighbourhood area’ – the first step in securing its own Neighbourhood Plan.

Neighbourhood planning is a key component of the Government’s Localism Act, which aims to devolve greater powers to councils and neighbourhoods.

And Stratford District Council is inviting people to comment on the proposals before it decides on the application.

If the application is agreed, residents, businesses and councillors will then be encouraged to get involved creating the plan, which sets out how they would like the area to develop.

A copy of the application and a map can be viewed online at www.stratford.gov.uk/nplan or in person at the council offices in Stratford or Stratford Library during office hours.

The consultation starts on Thursday (June 9) and the deadline for comments is 5pm on Friday July 8.

Comments can be made online, by emailing [email protected] or in writing to Planning Policy, Stratford District Council, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford, CV37 6HX.
