A CHARITY fundraiser saw passionate people pumped up for a cycle ride in Stratford.

More than 200 cyclists jumped in the saddle to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK.

Stratford was specially selected as just one of three locations in the UK for the annual fundraiser. Cyclists took on either 17, 43, or 63 mile routes through Warwickshire’s countryside.

Many participants were there to support loved ones with the illness including Heidi Thomas whose dad has lived with Parkinson’s for six years.

Sarah Ward from Stratford, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s ten years ago and was joined by family to complete the ride.

She said: “Since my diagnosis I have done things I would never have otherwise done, made some very special friends and raised over £15,000 for Parkinson’s UK.

Nearly £15,000 was raised on the day and with donations still rolling in, it is hoped to reach £27,000.
