THE RETURN of the Victorian Christmas Market saw thousands flock to Stratford town centre over the weekend.
The popular market, which fell prey to a Covid cancellation last year, was extended to four days for the first time.
The streets were aglow with fair rides – including an original Victorian carousel – while entertainers performed theatrics, carolers filled the air with song and costumed sellers from over 300 stalls offered up a wealth of gifts, food and festive tipples.
And an all-important guest appearance from Santa and his reindeer completed the much-anticipated festivities.
Stratford’s award-winning Christmas Market was first held in 2017, attracting around 58,000 visitors, but it has grown in popularity with some 125,000 market-goers flocking to the town in 2019.
