River search for missing man continues

AN UNDERWATER search for a man who disappeared into the Avon is continuing in Stratford.

The man is thought to have jumped into the river on Friday night(May 25).

A search began the same night, and has continued in and around Waterside.

It is thought the picture released by police following the incident is 26-year-old Cameron Whelan from Moseley in Birmingham.

Police have linked the search to an earlier attack outside McDonald’s after which they chased a man down to the river.

Anyone who has any information is urged to call police on 101 so they can ensure the man is safe and well.
