Runners go the distance for nursing charity

Stratford Editorial 30th Apr, 2017   0

RUNNERS went the distance for Shipston Home Nursing during a mini-marathon fundraiser.

The 10K run, set in the 65-acre grounds of Walton Hall, raised around £1,300 for the hospice which treats the terminally ill, from the comfort of their own home.

A total of 91 runners took part, followed by their families, supporting them at a more leisurely pace.

First to cross the finish line in the men’s category was fourth time winner Sam Weaving, while Sophie Yel was the first woman home. Jade Storer and Miles Taylor won the respective under16s races.
