MILES of pounds were raised by Sport Relief runners in the district.
Stratfordians tied up their trainers to run one, three or six miles and raised over £3,260 to help disadvantaged people all over the world.
This year saw Sport Relief raise a record breaking £72.5million – half of the money raised is used to support communities, projects and organisations in the UK and the other half is used to transform the lives of the world’s poorest communities.
Stratford Mile organiser, Danny Tolhurst said: “We are delighted with the total amount of money we have raised this year.
“It’s brilliant to have been part of such a successful Sport Relief year and know that we are helping to make a difference to people’s lives.”
