STRATFORD District Council’s third neighbourhood plan referendum saw residents in Salford Priors vote in favour.
The Neighbourhood Plan is a key component of the Government’s Localism Act, which aims to devolve greater powers to councils and neighbourhoods.
Villagers voted overwhelmingly in favour of the district council using the Neighbourhood Plan for Salford Priors to help decide planning applications in the neighbourhood.
There were 388 votes (86.8 per cent) in favour and 59 against (13.2 per cent)
Turnout was 39.1 per cent.
