Stratford Editorial 15th Aug, 2018   0

A NEW community scheme to help Alcester residents get in shape has been launched by the team from the Greig Centre.

And this coming Friday, August 17, Greig Lifestyles will be at 5-a-Day in the High Street giving top advice on getting healthy and staying in shape.

The initiative, called ‘Get Alcester Healthy’ will see the team work closely with local people and businesses with the aim of getting people active and healthier.

The Greig Lifestyles team will be at 5-a-Day from 8.30am to 2.30pm and people will be able to chat to their health and wellness experts for some free advice as well as take part the ‘Fastest 1km Wattbike Challenge’ to be in with a chance of winning prizes donated by local businesses.

Special guest on the day will be Team GB tri-athlete Lee Ross and locals can also sample fresh smoothies from 5-a-Day.

Greig Lifestyles general manager James Brookes said: “We are really pleased to be working with and helping the local community improve their health and wellness.

“Our long term goal is to help the community prevent future ill health reducing the high strain on the NHS.”

The Greig Lifestyles is a charity and the largest provider of sports and leisure facilities in Alcester offering a wide range of opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.
