Search on to find Stratford district's best buildings

Stratford Editorial 14th Oct, 2014 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016

THE SEARCH is on for the district’s best buildings.

Stratford District Council’s Building Control are inviting nominations for the Stratford District Building Excellence Awards 2015.

The awards recognise projects covering everything from the build itself to the likes of health and safety, compliance with relevant legislation and customer satisfaction.

Categories include domestic extensions, commercial/public buildings, works to a listed building, new housing through to multi-million pound commercial developments.

Coun Mike Brain, district technical services spokesman, said: “Stratford district is home to some truly innovative approaches to construction and renovation projects, and these awards are the council’s way of recognising and celebrating this.

“The awards acknowledge the best achievements of our local construction industry from small scale projects right through to multi-million pound commercial developments and also serve as a great way to inspire others considering projects in the district.

“I would encourage people to step forward with their nominations and help highlight examples of best practice across the district.”

Nominations can be made by architects, owners, builders where building work has been inspected, approved and completed by the council’s Building Control team. Deadline for nominations is Friday December 5.

Nominations can be made by calling 01789 260684, by emailing or in writing to Building Control at Stratford District Council, Elizabeth House, Church Street, Stratford CV37 6HX.

The winners will be decided by a panel of judges, with awards given out in April.
