Seasonal goodwill breaks donation record

Stratford Editorial 22nd Apr, 2018   0

GOODWILL over Christmas saw a record amount of donations to good causes across Stratford.

Alcester and Stratford District Round Table collected £6,700 during their two-week Santa sleigh run.

Over 20 groups volunteered to collect and spread Christmas cheer despite challenging conditions of snow and ice.

The group which supports a number of charities and community projects, hosted an evening to give the money to groups including Friends of St Nicholas School Alcester, Alcester First Responders, Stratford Citizens Advice Bureau and Bidford Juniors FC.

Chairman Rob Iles said: “It was fantastic to see so many people over the 14 nights come to their doors to see Santa, it really makes it worthwhile seeing the excitement on faces when the sleigh pulls up and I’m really proud of the amount raised.”
