Stratford Editorial 5th Feb, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016

A SECOND person has been arrested as part of the ongoing murder investigation in Stratford.

Police were called to an address in Hertford Road just after 7pm on Wednesday (February 3) where a 20-year-old woman was found with neck wounds.

West Midlands Ambulance Service attended but she was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

A 22-year-old woman was initially arrested on suspicion of murder.

And on Thursday evening (February 4), a second person – a 20-year-old man from Stratford – was also arrested on suspicion of murder.

Both are currently in police custody where they are being questioned by detectives.

A scene guard remains in place at the house and additional safer neighbourhood officers are also on patrol in the area.

A team of police officers is continuing to carry out inquiries and as part of the investigation, an area in Brookfield Court has been secured for a search to take place.

The woman has not been formally identified although her next of kin have been informed.

A post mortem examination is still to take place.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
