Smash in Warwick Hospital car park

Stratford Editorial 16th Mar, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016

THIS was the shocking scene after a man fell ill at the wheel in the car park of Warwick Hospital.

A Land Rover crashed into a van and a car and demolished a wall at around 4.20pm on Wednesday. An ambulance crew already at the hospital rushed to the aid of the driver.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews found a middle aged man in a 4×4 Land Rover who appeared to have suffered a medical episode at the wheel.

“The vehicle had collided with a van and a Seat. The Seat had been pushed through a small wall and had come to rest on the bonnet of a silver BMW X5.

“The driver of the Land Rover was assisted out of the vehicle by ambulance crews and assessed before being taken into the hospital for further tests.

“Thankfully no-one else was injured in the crash.”
