BUSINESSES in Stratford are being urged to bloom.
As part of Stratford in Bloom’s ongoing work to keep the town adorned with flowers, businesses are being asked to get involved in sponsoring hanging baskets, joining the committee, and entering the competition itself.
With the warm weather settling in, hundreds of hanging baskets have been put up around the town to decorate streets and businesses until late summer.
The flowers are set to peak in July when the town will be visited by judges from Britain in Bloom for the Heart of England region.
Blenheim Nursery, which supplies the baskets, have prepared almost 300 displays in total – 220 for various places in the town as well as 70 for businesses.
Stratford in Bloom Vice-Chairman, Richard Vos said: “We’re not just judged on the baskets, it’s about the community involvement as well.
“Stratford in Bloom has a direct impact on the sense of pride, belonging, welfare – all the things that make people feel good.”
The competition has a range of categories open to businesses, schools and residents with trophies, certificates and Blenheim Nursery vouchers up for grabs as prizes.
