PEOPLE in Stratford district are healthier than most.

A nationwide study placed Stratford as the sixth healthiest district in the UK and the healthiest district in the Midlands.

Babylon Health collected data from over 38,000 users of its Healthcheck app across the UK. It assigned an overall score out of 100 to 308 local authority districts based on nine indicators of a healthy lifestyle. The higher the score, the healthier the place.

Factors included diet, including amount of alcohol consumed and fruit and veg eaten, how many residents smoked, and the amount and type of exercise taken.

Stratford with a score of 70.1 came in behind the Forest of Dean in top spot nationally with an overall score of 74.5, which was followed by Chichester (74.1), Brentwood (71.8), City of London (71.6) and Guildford (71.2).

Stratford was the only midlands district in the top ten. Neighbouring Warwick district was placed 33rd with a score of 65.2.

Nuneaton and Bedworth was placed a lowly 248th with a score of just 46. Data was not available for the respective districts of Rugby and North Warwickshire.
