Stratford named among the most romantic towns

LOVED-UP couples have named Stratford among the most romantic places in Britain.

Publisher Mills and Boonhas unveiled its list of the top 20 romantic places to go on a holiday or short break.

And Stratford clinched 16th spot – with Fairy Pools in Isle of Skye and Grasmere in the Lake

District taking the top two places.

The list was drawn up by a panel of travel experts and the results decided in a national poll.

The poll was based on beautiful views and walks, and places to stay and eat.

Stratford certainly proved a romantic inspiration for Shakespeare, who knew a thing or two

about love – even if it didn’t always turn out well for some of his characters.

Mills and Boon executive publisher Lisa Milton said: “When it comes to a summer getaway with a loved one, we all want to make it as romantic as possible.

Our survey has identified the definitive romantic places in Britain and the world.

“With all of us looking for any opportunity to bring a little extra romance into our hectic lives, holidays in these places offer the perfect chance to switch off and rediscover romance.”
