SHOPPERS at a Stratford store have been raising money for charity rather than bagging Black Friday deals.
FatFace on Wood Street took part in the national ‘Thanks for Giving’ campaign which saw the company donating over £100,000 of profits raised from sales online or in store rather than discounting on Black Friday.
The Stratford branch donated to Safeline, which supports the victims of sexual abuse and rape.
Safeline was nominated by Stratford Town Trust which agreed to match-fund the amount raised, up to £1,000.
Paula Jones from Safeline, said: “It’s absolutely fantastic that FatFace and Stratford Town Trust are supporting Safeline.
“Sexual abuse and rape are still seen as taboo subjects, not easily talked about, and yet thousands of people just in Stratford are affected.
“Through ‘Thanks for Giving’ we’ll be able to help more people in the local area, through specialised counselling and emotional and practical support with reporting the abuse.”
