Stratford theatre company cancel whole summer tour

Stratford Editorial 15th Aug, 2022   0

A THEATRE company based in Stratford have had to cancel their entire summer tour due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

Tread The Boards, resident theatre company at The Attic Theatre at Cox’s Yard, was due to tour its production of The Three Musketeers but have had to pull the plug at the final hour due to “unfortunate financial and personal circumstances beyond their control”.

The theatre company’s founders, husband and wife duo Catherine Prout and John Partridge, said they were sorry to let everyone down and “felt terrible”, as they have never had to cancel a production in the 13 years they have been operating.

They explained several venues had pulled out on them at the beginning of this month and despite frantically trying to fill the gaps they had had no luck, making the whole tour unsustainable.

“We hope to be back and alive and kicking next year but this year sadly has worked against us,” Catherine and John added.

Anyone who purchased tickets will be refunded.
