AWARD winning swimming lessons are held in Stratford district.

Everyone Active – who run swimming lessons in partnership with Stratford District Council – was named Facility Operator of the year at the annual ASA Swimtastic Awards.

It is the fifth time the company have won the award.

Everyone Active is one of the largest providers of swimming lessons in the UK and teaches over some 4,000 children and adults to swim in Shipston, Southam, Stratford and Studley.

Jacqui Tilman from Everyone Active said: “We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all our communities and our swimming programme is a huge part of this.

“The ASA’s fourth annual School Swimming Census recently revealed that 48 per cent of children aged seven to 11 in the UK are unable to swim 25 metres. We will strive to reduce this figure even more going forward by encouraging as many children – and adults – as possible to learn this important life skill and get active through swimming.”

Services spokesman, Coun Mike Brain added: “Swimming is a vital life skill it is great to know that the residents of Stratford District have access to some of the best teaching available through our network of leisure centres.”
