TAMPON poverty was just one of the issues raised by the Stratford Women’s Labour group at a community market.
The group recently held a stall on Rother Street to raise awareness of the plight faced by many women including those in refuges.
The event called ‘Tea and Tampons’ also took food donations for Stratford Foodbank, refuges, The Link Project and schools alongside feminine hygiene products.
The event is hoped to take place once a month in support of trade union Unite’s campaign known as ‘Demand Period Dignity’.
Officer Maz Woods describes the group as ’empowered women working hard to support charities and people in need in Stratford’.
