Thousands Expected to Flock to Four Day Jubilee Street Party in Stratford

Stratford Editorial 1st Jun, 2022   0

AN MASSIVEĀ  four-day “street party” will be taking place in Stratford to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.

Organisers are confident that the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Festival – which will run throughout the Bank Holiday from Thursday 2 until Sunday 5 June – will attract tens of thousands of visitors and could be one of the biggest events of its kind in the UK.

They are promising that those attending the free event will be royally entertained with everything from: a huge artisan royal themed market; a mass public picnic by the river in the shadow of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre; an interactive concert by the world famous Orchestra in the Swan; a royal themed exhibition; a Jubilee Poetry Trail by Coventry City of Culture Poet Laureate Emilie Lauren Jones; a chance to “drive” an F1 car in a hi tech simulator; a caving experience; royal themed art activities for the whole family from making a crown to “punking” a corgi; a funfair with traditional carousel; street entertainment from royal themed stilt walkers and jugglers; and crazy golf in the town centre, just metres from Shakespeare’s Birthplace!

The event has been put together by: Stratford Upon Avon Business Improvement District (SUA BID); LSD Promotions; the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC); the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT); Escape Arts; Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council. It is hoped that not only will the event royally entertain tens of thousands of people but also provide a much needed boost to the local economy after the pandemic.

Diane Mansell, Stratford Upon Avon BID Manager said:

“We are thrilled to be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the town centre and it’s fantastic to have so many businesses getting involved.
