TIME is running out for Stratfordians to apply for cash to cover the cost of street parties celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday.
The milestone birthday will be officially marked across the world between June 10 and 12 this year but applications for grants from Stratford Town Trust £10,000 pot must be submitted by January 29.
Those applying for the grants of up to £400 can be a charity, school, organisation, club or simply a group of neighbours within Stratford town but at least 20 people must attend the party.
Trust spokeswoman Claire Bowry said: “The Queen’s 90th birthday will be celebrated up and down the country and across the world – we want all corners of the community to get involved.
“It’s an opportunity to bring out the bunting and bring people together.”
Any street party road closures must be approved by Stratford District Council.
