TOURISM in Warwickshire is being given a boost.
A new £500k grant fund to help support and grow the tourism sector across the county has been launched.
The funding is aimed at landowners, rural communities, charities and public bodies in the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership area.
Consideration will be given particularly to projects that seek to create jobs, extend the tourism season, encourage business partnerships and develop a range of tourist attractions.
Monica Fogarty from Warwickshire County Council said: “Tourism makes a major contribution to Warwickshire’s economy not only in monetary terms but also in creating employment throughout the whole of the county. These grants will help to create sustainable local jobs for local people.”
Businesses and organisations interested in the growth programme should visit www.gov.uk/government/publications/rdpe-growth-programme. The new grant fund is open until next January.
