Tributes paid to Wellesbourne crash woman

PARENTS have paid tribute to their “beautiful, loving and caring” daughter who has died following a car crash near Wellesbourne.

Amanda Louise Emmott was one of three people in a VW Golf which cart-wheeled into a ditch off the A429 near the HRI centre on Saturday evening October 24.

Amanda, a back seat passenger in the car, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, together with a man who was in the front.

But the 33 year-old from Shipston – who was brought up in the West Country and after school worked in Dublin and London in the hospitality industry – died this week.

Her parents said: “Amanda was beautiful, loving and caring. She was opinionated and had a wicked sense of humour. She made friends easily and loved keeping in touch with all the people she had met while living in Dublin and London. Amanda could get along with anybody – no matter what walk of life they came from. I know all her friends will miss her dearly.

“Amanda was a country girl at heart and made Shipston her home about two years ago. She had been working at a local newsagent where she got along with everyone. Amanda was a tenacious character – she loved new challenges and faced them with confidence and excitement.

“Words cannot express how much we will miss our beautiful girl who brought sunshine into everybody’s lives.

“We are devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of such a wonderful young lady on the verge of starting a new chapter of her life.”

A third person in the car had left the scene by the time ambulance crews arrived. A man was later interviewed by police and investigations continue.

There has been no update on the condition of the other passenger taken to hospital who also suffered serious injuries in the crash which saw the car smash through a wall before it turned over in the air and landed back on its wheels in a ditch.
