THE SUNNYSIDERS’ Ukulele Group is preparing for their first public performance – just four months after any of them had ever plucked a string.
The group was founded through Sunny Side Up – the Stratford-based voluntary organisation which creates social opportunities for the district’s more mature residents aged anything from 60 to over100.
The new musical friends will showcase some of their cheerful repertoire at a special coffee morning being held at Stratford Town Hall on Thursday March 10, from 10.30am to 1pm.
People attending can even learn a tune themselves or find out about the popular Computer Skills Club. These groups meet weekly at Stratford Samaritans’ Community Hub in Tyler Street.
Volunteers from Sunny Side Up will also be on hand at the coffee morning to discuss future social activities planned.
Entry is £1, regardless of age, and includes refreshments.
Sunny Side Up reaches out to people who may feel lonely or isolated or who simply wish to expand their horizons.
