Editorial Correspondent 5th Oct, 2017 Updated: 5th Oct, 2017

A VICTIM threatened with two bladed weapons was forced to hand over money to a robber in Earlswood Lakes.

The man in his 50s – thought to be fishing at the time – was approached by the suspect around 9.30am on Monday (October 2).

The thug made off with the money towards Wood Lane.

He is described as white, in his early 20s, with short blond hair, wearing jeans and a green parka coat.

Det Con Thomas Quinlan said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim and it is fortunate that they were not injured.

“I understand that the local community will be concerned and I would like to reassure them that a thorough investigation is underway. I would urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to come forward as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information should contact the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
