VOLUNTEER community transport across Stratford district has been resumed.
VASA has restarted its service for essential journeys to keep medical appointments.
The volunteer driver scheme was temporarily halted at the end of March to ensure patient safety.
But going forward it will be using PPE, following cleaning regimes and checking patient health before accepting a journey.
Transport manager Ali Gravestock said: “All clients must use a face covering, which VASA can provide.
“This restart will obviously be closely monitored and any spike in infections will mean the service may be withdrawn again for the safety of all concerned.
“We are delighted to be able to open the service up again, even in this small way and we are immensely proud of our volunteers who are willing to work through the pandemic.
“We would like to thank funders and supporters for helping us through this time.”
