Warwickshire Police throwing book at business fraudsters

Stratford Editorial 25th Nov, 2016   0

SCAMSTERS who target county businesses are being brought to book.

Warwickshire Police has published The Little Book of Big Scams to help businesses protect themselves. It offers crime prevention advice to guard against fraud through practical tips and guidance to identify risks.

Supt Sue Thomas, the force’s business crime spokesman, said: “We accept business owners often appreciate the importance of reinforcing their security procedures but find it difficult to find time in their busy schedules.

“We hope that The Little Book of Big Scams helps with this task and makes the process simpler and smoother.

“All too often we are approached by businesses after they have become victims of crime and we are keen to reduce this number.

“We are working to engage with as many businesses as possible before they fall victim in the hope to prevent this from happening.”

Last year, fraud and cyber crime cost the UK economy almost £11billion.
