A 22-YEAR-OLD woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder in Stratford.

Police were called to an address in Hertford Road just after 7pm on Wednesday (February 3) where a 20-year-old woman was found with neck wounds.

West Midlands Ambulance Service attended but she was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The woman has not been formally identified although her next of kin have been informed.

A 22-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being questioned by detectives while a team of police officers and forensic experts remain at the scene.

One neighbour, who did not wish to be named, told The Observer: “I’m shocked and felt a bit upset when I found out some poor person had died.

“It has always seemed so quiet and peaceful down here but you just don’t know what is happening behind closed doors.

“Other people have told me they have seen people out on the grass rowing before but I have not seen or heard anything myself, so it’s just hearsay.

“It is absolutely dreadful, the poor girl and her poor parents – it is just such a shock.”
