BINTON A secured a well deserved 221-220 victory over Binton B in week four of the Stratford & District Airgun League’s Webley Shield Handicap.

The A team gave away 14 handicap points but shot well to move back to the top of the table with six points and an average of 223.25.

Shooting mainly fours and bulls top shots in this match were the A team’s Chris Reed with 34 and Michelle Dale and Will Cemis with 33s.

Avon, who totalled 221, shot seven above their team average including a career best 33 from Sam Green to win against Avenue who shot their average of 214 points.

Richard Mills shot a season best 31 and Alan Crichton and Steve Parrack both managed 33 for Avenue on what seemed to be a difficult target for the visitors.

Home Guard’s shooters did well to pull back the six-point handicap given to Clifford.

Mick Pegg (29, Home Guard) and Matt Carvell (33, Clifford) both shot career best scores and Home Guard’s Andy Morris, renowned for his scores of 34, went one better to shoot his first possible this season as his side enjoyed a 222-220 victory.

League winners Wilmcote had to give a significant handicap to MEB, equivalent to an extra shooter, but a beleaguered MEB are still without a win in this competition.

Paul Onions held his own in shooting 32 for hosts MEB who totalled 229, but it seems nothing can stop Wilmcote who notched up an amazing total score of 232 which included Jamie Clarke’s ninth possible this season.

The visitors also had 34s from his brothers Ashleigh and Adam and 33s from Graham East and Paul Clingan to secure their first win in the Webley.
