Davis Cup is coming to town

Stratford Editorial 14th Sep, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

TENNIS fans will have the opportunity to get their hands on the Davis Cup when the top team trophy in the sport comes to Stratford later this month.

Great Britain are the current holders of the prestigious silverware thanks to the heroics of Andy Murray and Co in 2015, culminating with victory in the final against hosts Belgium in November.

As a result, the Lawn Tennis Association launched a nationwide Trophy Tour which began in April.

The trophy will be visiting Stratford Tennis Club on Sunday, September 25 when schoolchildren, members and the general public will be given an exclusive opportunity to see and be pictured with the trophy, as well as having a chance to pick up a racket and play a bit of tennis themselves.

This weekend (September 16-18) Great Britain continue their defence of the cup when they host Argentina in the semi-finals in Glasgow.
