Duo's fair play is rewarded

INKBERROW C and Bidford B of divisions three and four respectively have been named joint winners of the 2018 Wildmoor Spa Summer Tennis League Fair Play Plate.

This is the seventh year the accolade has been awarded. It is voted on by all teams from the six divisions and 42 of the 47 sides submitted a vote.

There were a record 28 teams nominated from all divisions with Stratford A (2), Chipping Campden (2) and Alcester B (2) from the Premier Division, Ardencote Manor B (2) from Division One, Claverdon B (2) and Inkberrow B (2) from Division Two and Bidford A (2) from Division Three all receiving support.

However, only three teams received more than two votes. Littleton A from Division One received three votes, but Inkberrow C and Bidford B received four each.

This is the second time Inkberrow C have been successful, but it is the first occasion Bidford B have won this award.

Both teams who will be presented with the trophy at the annual presentation day on Sunday, September 2 at Alcester Tennis Club.
