STRATFORD School student Jack Sumners has been selected to represent England at the ISF (International School Sport Federation) World Cup for Schools.

The event will be held in Nancy, France, from June 24 and Jack will be competing in both the hurdles and long jump.

Jack has been selected due to his outstanding performance on the national stage this year. He is currently ranked number one in the UK for U17 hurdles and number two for U17 long jump.

He has recently become the UK indoor U17 hurdles champion and long jump champion and was also selected to represent England at a recent international match.

The ISF World Cup will feature 24 other countries and Jack’s PE teacher Guy Wnuk is thrilled by his selection.

“Jack has not only been a model student at school, his hard work and diligence in PE has been a credit to our department,” said Mr Wnuk.

“We are immensely proud of his achievements and see him as a role model to our younger students. Through working with Stratford Athletic Club, we hope to support more talented athletes to reach the high standards Jack and many of our students have reached.”
