Get into gear with Shipston Cycling Club

Liam Moakes 17th Dec, 2019

SHIPSTON Cycling Club is offering local people the chance to get the new year off to a fit and healthy start.

The club is inviting potential new members the opportunity to try out a group ride free of charge on Sundays, January 5 and 12.  The rides will set out from Shipston Leisure Centre, Darlingscote Road, at 9am.

Chairman Andy Smith said: “We are a friendly group of riders of many different abilities and we always welcome new members. What unites us is a love for the great outdoors and, with so much beautiful scenery on our doorstep, a bike ride is the perfect way to get out and explore our area while enjoying a great fitness boost.”

The January rides will give people the chance to take part in a group ride for the very first time, or perhaps to return to cycling after a period out of the saddle.

Andy added: “You don’t need the latest carbon bike to take part – just a roadworthy road bike and a helmet. Be sure to bring along some change as all of our Sunday group rides stop off at a local cafe for coffee and cake!”
