Imogen shines in GB Trials

STRATFORD Boat Club’s Imogen North finished 22nd overall in the GB Rowing Team Junior Trials after three races among the J18/17 scullers.

Imogen was sculling against those in higher categories, which meant this was a very good performance and result. Nearly 200 rowers and scullers took part in the GB Rowing Team Junior Trials.

Stratford Boat Club coach Mark Holden said: “This is a great achievement on Imogen’s part and she has done herself and Stratford Boat Club proud.

“Imogen’s placing shows that determination and dedication can produce great results, especially as she is also studying hard for her exams.”

Whilst Imogen was competing at the GB Rowing Team Junior Trials at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham, the rest of the club had a busy weekend at home with all squads out on the water, including the Learn to Row course new rowers.

Andrew Roe, head coach at Stratford Boat Club, said: “Although the current spring Learn to Row courses are fully subscribed, we will be running additional courses in the autumn.

“During the summer holidays, we will be also running Summer Camps for young people from 12 to 18-years-old who want to try rowing.

“Our one-week Summer Camps for juniors are the perfect way for them to learn how to row or for beginners to brush up on their skills.”
